Now is the best time to see C/2014 Q2 Lovejoy! It's glowing at magnitude 4 and still heading north at a rate of about 2° per day. Telescope or binoculars would be handy and viewing charts are available at the link. Or, you can view it online at the Virtual Telescope Project on Jan. 11, 2015 at 2 pm EST / 1 pm CST. Apr 21, 2015 Asteroid just missed Earth on Tuesday(about 3am EDT). It came close. 2015 HD1 passed just 0.2 lunar distances away (45,600 miles or 73,400 km).  That's about twice as far as geostationary satellites. The Mt. Lemmon Survey, based in Tucson, Arizona, first saw this asteroid three days ago, on Saturday, April 18.
